Art & Music: Graphic Scores
Sunday, February 15

In this workshop, you will make and perform your own graphic scores – the representation of music through the use of visual symbols outside the realm of traditional music notation. The symbols can be lines, shapes, colors, drawings, or other forms of representation that are capable of expressing beat and pitch. In graphic scores you use your imagination to make music based on images – a unique way of expressing emotions and ideas in music. The workshop brings together different artistic languages – music, visual arts, and performing arts –, giving families the chance to experience music in a transdisciplinary, imaginative, and unconventional way, beyond mere reproduction.

Conducted by: Adria Parravicini

Art & Movement: Drawing with Your Body
Sunday, February 22

Step into a world where drawing and movement come alive together! In Art & Movement, you will be creating art with your whole body, not just drawing with your hand. Jump, roll, dance, wander around, and laugh as you see how your physical actions shape the marks you make—and how your strokes inspire movement.

Warning! This playful session is likely to spark lots of excitement and peals of laughter! No drawing or dancing skills? No problem!

You can join solo, with a friend, or as a family. Inspired by the research done by Simona Lobefaro and Alessandro Lumare (Segni Mossi), this activity is all about exploring the connections between drawing and movement, usually considered as distinct, unconnected languages.

Conducted by: VACA rules!
