Celebrate the richness and diversity of Bilbao’s architecture with two activities in collaboration with the OPEN Bilbao Festival 2025 and within the context of the Museum’s TOParte program.

The festival is designed, organized, and promoted by OUT, a non-profit association made up of young professionals in architecture and urban planning, with the support of the Bilbao City Council. Under the theme Festival of Architectures, it includes a roundtable discussion at the Museum with representatives of young architectural studios from around Spain, who will discuss the challenges of contemporary architecture on the basis of social, economic, and environmental evolution, among others. In addition, the Museum will propose a series of visits focusing on the history of the Museum building and its integration into the urban fabric, including a tour of selected artworks from the Collection displayed outdoors, bringing the Museum—an architectural and artistic icon that builds bridges between citizens and contemporary art—to younger generations.

Program

Friday October 3
Roundtable discussion: Challenges of current architecture

The round table Escenarios (im)probables sets up a space to talk about architecture in an open, bold, unprejudiced, propositional and —hopefully— fun way. It’s an excuse to speak from personal positions, leaving aside specific production and focusing instead on broader perspectives. Participants: AMA architectural office: Jaime Gutiérrez Armendáriz + Itziar Molinero Miranda,  BeAr: Iñigo Berasategui, Paula Bozalongo, Lluis J. Liñán, BIZNA estudio: Rocío García Peña + Pedro Torres García-Cantó (facilitators)

Venue and time: Auditorium, 7:00pm
Duration: 90 min.
Tickets: free, available from the admission desk and on the website.
Complete panel of speakers available here from September 15 onwards
