Barenboim is conducting the Berliner Philharmoniker in their performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 10 and The Song of the Earth.
Throughout his six decades of collaboration with the Berliner Philharmoniker, this is the first time Daniel Barenboim has conducted the orchestra in a performance of music by Gustav Mahler (b. 1860, Kalischt, Bohemia; d. 1911, Vienna). The program includes Symphony No. 10 (Adagio) and The Song of the Earth, which will be performed by mezzo-soprano Dorottya Láng and tenor Benjamin Bruns.
