Drawing course: Learning to draw. From the inside out: Draw and move! (Sunday)
Admission
€42 Museum members / €54 General public. Individual sessions (if available): €7 Museum members / €9 general public
At this fun, playful session, we will draw and move as we learn more about our body and the space around us!
By drawing and moving, we will explore how our body feels inside and how it connects with everything around us. What will we do?
- We will dive into our inner world, drawing emotions, dreams, and our imaginings.
- By turning our attention inward, our drawing will be guided by the rhythms and sounds of our breath and our heartbeat.
- We will play around with different postures and gestures, using the movement of our body as a means of reflection and exploration, discovering more about the world around us by observing objects, spaces, and other people before we draw them.
Program
October 19: Drawing our inner selves
How do we feel inside our body? Could you draw it? Close your eyes to feel your breath and listen to your heartbeat.
October 26: A map of the body
Draw a 'map' to explore the inside of the human body. We will learn to locate all our major organs, as well as our skeleton and circulatory system.
November 2: Rhythm and graphic expression
Let the rhythm guide your hand: How fast or slow do you draw each line? Explore how sound and rhythm influence movement and artistic expression, developing a deeper connection between hearing, emotion, and gesture.
November 9: The skin and the dress
The skin is not just something that covers the body, allowing us to feel the warmth of the sun or the cold of sea water. It is also a surface where people, animals, and even buildings express themselves, protect themselves, or blend in. Why do tigers have stripes? What is the 'skin' of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao like?
November 16: Mask workshop
Masks have been used all over the world for a very long time: at festivals, in theater productions, in dances, in rituals... Sometimes for play, other times for protection or for storytelling. Masks have a special power: when we put them on, something shifts. Create your own mask and discover how it makes you feel.
November 23: Unusual journeys
Experience your surroundings in a whole new way, using your body as a tool to explore the space around you. As if on a real adventure, we’ll pay close attention to distances, sounds, and textures—examining corridors, thresholds, passageways, and ceilings. Could you draw the journeys you make?
