Inspired by Sol LeWitt’s Wall Drawing, we will build a new space using color geometric forms.
Many of LeWitt’s forms are made of repeated, swappable simple units. Based on a dynamic of perception and movement in space, we will become familiar with LeWitt’s color palette, analyzing how colors interact, producing a range of sensations and emotions.
We will understand that we do not need a frame or a canvas to make a painting: we can use walls as our painting surface. Also, we will realize that, sometimes, ideas matter more than the finished works of art.
Finally, we will use large geometric pieces in different colors to build a structure together—a place where we can stay and play. Each participant will then make their own model to design a colorful space to play and have fun.
